Nazarene Missions International

The Church of the Nazarene has been a church that believes in living a holy life as well as living the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). This Great Commission is where Jesus instructs us to spread His word and teach His commands to the world. We accomplish this through Nazarene Missions International (NMI). World Missions continue to be an integral part of the work of the WCN.

Nazarene Missions International (NMI) is the organization for mobilizing the local church in missions in the Church of the Nazarene and the denomination’s representative for missions on the district and in the local church. The purpose of NMI is to pioneer, develop, and resource local, interdependent, and sustainable Nazarene churches.

Faith Promise

Faith Promise giving is a biblical method we use to raise financial support for the World Evangelism Fund (WEF). Through Faith Promise people pray about the amount God wants them to give for missions (over and above their tithe). The amount is often given weekly, biweekly or monthly. Many families/individuals find systematic giving is easier to fit their budgets.

FAITH PROMISE FUNDS:

Memorial Roll/Distinguished Service Awards (DSA): Click on the name of each of these funds to find out more.

Local and District Expenses: Missionary speakers, delegates to conventions, and other missions’ ministry expenses.

Local Outreach: Food and clothing pantry, Serve Week, and many other local outreach projects throughout the year.

Work and Witness: Each year WCN is blessed with the ability to assemble various missional teams that travel to different locations in the world. Your Faith Promise gift contributes to sending people to share the Gospel around the world. Please see the currently schedule Work and Witness trips below.

Benevolence: We give donations to support the ministry of one other district church, one local community ministry, and the additional funds supplement our church benevolence ministries.

School/Life Center: We are currently partnering with Springdale Church of the Nazarene to financially support/sponsor a school/life center in Chinaboquil (“cheena bowKEEL”), Guatemala. The money provided through Faith Promise provides daily meals for each child, school supplies, costs of operating the school and more. The local church we partner with to run the school/life center is Iglesia del Nazareno Chinaboquil, the pastor is Pastor: Hector Xol (“Shoal”) and current number of kids enrolled is 45.

World Evangelism Fund (WEF): Supports the work of the church throughout the world. Full-time missionaries (excluding volunteers) in the Church of the Nazarene receive a monthly paycheck based on a standard amount plus a cost-of-living adjustment. They also receive medical insurance, a pension provision and other items (such as housing and travel costs). WEF is collected through the yearly Faith Promise, Thanksgiving gifts and/or Easter gifts.

Kenya 2024: Tentative dates July 18-31, 2024 - Our project work is yet to be determined, but there will be an amazing opportunity to be a part of African Nazarene University’s graduation ceremony and embark on a 3 day safari to close the trip. Estimated cost is $3,000. If interested in learning more and/or joining the team please contact Mark Emerson.

Alabaster

Alabaster is a bi-annual offering for mission buildings and construction sites. It is a love offering based on the story from Luke of the woman pouring the alabaster vile of costly perfume on Jesus feet. It is a gift of deep love from a heart of gratitude. Every penny donated to Alabaster goes directly to building churches, chapels, mission and district center, parsonages, Bible schools, hospitals, clinic and for the purchase of land for multicultural work in the U.S. and in 162 world areas. We collect the Alabaster Offering in February and September.
